    More than 30 people have become victims of the effects of heavy rains in northern India. This is reported by The Times of India.

    According to the newspaper, in addition to the dead, at least eight people were missing in four northern states - Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab - where intense rainfall was observed over the weekend, TASS reports.

    In Punjab, the car in which 12 family members were traveling to the wedding was washed into the river, 9 passengers were killed. Further south, in Bharatpur, seven young men posing for photos on social media near the Banganga River fell into the water and died after the ground collapsed under them. Three people drowned in a rain pond in Jhunjhunu, stuck in mud.

    In the Karaulka area, where there was a flood with a record rainfall of 380 m, a man and his 10-year-old son died when part of a neighboring building collapsed on their house.

    Heavy rains in recent weeks have caused massive flooding, landslides and destruction of buildings, roads and bridges in various regions of India.
