Uzbekistan's initiative to hold "Days of Culture of the Commonwealth" was presented at the CIS meeting

    The 40th meeting of the Council for Cultural Cooperation of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Dushanbe. A delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov took part in its work.

    Among the participants of the meeting were also Minister of Culture of Tajikistan Mahmadsaid Sattoriyon, Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Atabai Shamiradov (online), First Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Samat Nadirbekov, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vitaly Osintsev, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Oljas Sidikov (online), Deputy Minister of Culture of Belarus Sergey Sarakach, Advisor to the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Orkhan Amirbekov, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Education and Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia Samvel Sahakyan, as well as Deputy Head of the Department of the CIS Executive Committee Valentina Rudikova.

    During the meeting, a wide range of issues included in the agenda was considered, which covered ten topics. Among them are the state policy of Tajikistan in the field of culture, the results of cultural events held within the CIS in 2025, as well as the plan of cultural initiatives and joint projects for 2026.

    Special attention was paid to the projects "Capitals of the Commonwealth", "Art Expo", as well as the initiative of Uzbekistan to hold the "Days of Culture of the Commonwealth". The participants exchanged views on expanding cooperation, developing cultural dialogue between the CIS countries and strengthening humanitarian ties.

    Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue supporting joint cultural initiatives aimed at strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the CIS member states.
