The path from Fergana Valley to other regions of the country lies through the pass and trains are not available in all directions. Therefore, life dictates the need to improve the airport infrastructure, which will provide a powerful incentive for developing business, transport services, and tourism.
As part of the project, a cargo terminal, catering and fuel refueling complexes, and other utility buildings will be built. The passenger terminal’s capacity is also expected to increase to 1,000 people per hour. The cargo terminal will strengthen potential in business, export, and transit.
In addition, the project provides for updating the fleet of special equipment, which will allow receiving and servicing aircraft of any type.
The Head of state gave instructions on improving the airport’s efficiency, emphasizing the need to increase local and international flights and fully utilize logistics capabilities. One of the main tasks should be ensuring ticket affordability.
Thereupon, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev completed his visit to Namangan and returned to Tashkent.
