Today, Namangan is the leader of Uzbekistan’s textile industry. This sector accounts for one-third of the region’s industrial output and half of its exports. The region is home to approximately 2,500 textile enterprises operating under nearly 250 brands, which provide high incomes to more than 100,000 people.
To expand industrial capacity, the Namangan Free Economic Zone was extended to Turakurgan district. Among nearly twenty projects being implemented here is the new enterprise of the Iftikhor Kiyim Sanoat cluster.
At the videoconference on August 13, the Head of State specifically emphasized the importance of cooperation between textile enterprises and leading global brands. Such a mechanism has been successfully introduced at Iftikhor Kiyim Sanoat, which produces garments for orders from Bugatti, Pierre Cardin, Roy Robson, Baldessarini, Lavard, Jake’s, Engbers, Cinque, Walbusch, and other well-known brands. Today, clothing sewn in Namangan is displayed on the shelves of European stores.
In addition, the enterprise manufactures upholstery fabrics for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Rolls-Royce. It is the only company of its kind in the region. Overall, cooperation has been established with nearly twenty foreign brands.
The total cost of the new project amounted to $198 million, directed toward the construction of production facilities and the introduction of advanced technologies. Modern buildings have been constructed, and a specialized laboratory has been established. Energy-efficient equipment from Germany, Italy, Türkiye, and Poland has increased productivity, while the laboratory has become a key element in ensuring quality control and strengthening the trust of leading brands.
Having started as a small sewing workshop, Iftikhor Kiyim Sanoat has grown into a large cluster, from cotton cultivation to the export of finished products. Strict quality standards have brought its products to the international market.
The President got familiar with the production process and spoke with the employees. Once operating at full capacity, the enterprise will produce goods worth $100 million annually, create 2,000 new jobs, and ensure steady tax revenues to the state budget. Cooperation with international brands guarantees a stable sales market, significant foreign currency inflows, and additional employment opportunities.
Foreign participants of the International Poverty Reduction Forum “Road to Prosperity”, held in Namangan, also visited the site. They were presented with an exhibition showcasing finished garments for national and foreign brands, as well as products from the food, leather, construction, pharmaceutical, and other industries.
The guests were shown the favorable conditions created for business in Uzbekistan, along with the wide range and high quality of domestic industrial products. All of this left a profound impression on them.
In conclusion, the Head of State was briefed on plans to implement 252 major projects in Namangan region, which involve foreign investment in urban development, textiles, construction materials, electrical engineering, tourism, agriculture, and the chemical industry. The President instructed that all necessary conditions be provided for investors and entrepreneurs, that project implementation be accelerated, that more jobs be created, and that the population’s income be increased.
Thereupon, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev completed his visit to Namangan region.
