During the meeting, the current state and prospects for the development of relations between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom were discussed.

The sides noted the fruitful results of the negotiations between the foreign ministers of the two countries (December 1 in Lodz), as well as the 26th meeting of the Uzbek-British Trade and Industry Council (November 30 in Tashkent) with the participation of 126 representatives of 73 British leading companies. The necessity of practical implementation of all agreements reached during the above-mentioned events was emphasized.

An exchange of views took place on organizational issues of upcoming joint contacts at various levels, in particular, the holding of the next meeting of the inter-ministerial political consultations on December 15 in Tashkent.

Special attention is paid to the expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation. The Ambassador expressed readiness to organize seminars with the participation of British experts on the use of the GSP+ system, studying the experience of the UK in the development of the capital market and the banking sector.

Specific proposals to activate cultural and humanitarian ties were discussed, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
