Issues of Uzbek-Japanese cooperation were discussed

    A meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy and Finance between Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov and representatives of the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and Newly Independent States (ROTOBO) headed by the President of the association Masami Iijima.

    The meeting was attended by Department Directors Temirmalik Kholikov, Khurshed Mustafayev and Zafar Astanov, as well as Chairman of the Management Board of UzAssets JSC Bobur Abdinazarov. The foreign side was represented by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Japan to Uzbekistan Takashi Hatori, Vice-Presidents of ROTOBO Tetsuya Shinohara, Masahiro Imai, Ryutaro Hirai and Hirokazu Higashino, as well as Director General of the ROTOBO Department Takafumi Nakai.

    At the beginning of the meeting, Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov congratulated Masami Iijim on being awarded the "Order of the Rising Sun" and noted the long history of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan. He stressed the importance of developing bilateral cooperation and expressed Uzbekistan's interest in attracting foreign direct investment and supporting the development of Japanese business in the country.

    During the meeting, Masami Iijima noted the interest of the Japanese community in Central Asia, in particular Uzbekistan. He highlighted the successes achieved within the framework of the strategic partnership and expressed readiness to continue developing this partnership.

    In addition, the participants discussed the importance of developing a "green" economy and its potential to stimulate economic growth. Both sides recognized that the development of environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient projects can be a key factor in promoting economic development and creating new jobs.

    Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue cooperation. They noted the effectiveness and productivity of the negotiations, which contribute to strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan.
