This was announced by Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration, on her social media pages.
“I would like to say with joy and pride that Uzbek and Old Uzbek languages will now be studied at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Oxford University.
I am pleased to have received an award from the university in recognition of the achievements made in Uzbekistan under the leadership of our President in protecting the rights and expanding the opportunities of women," said Saida Mirziyoyeva.
She also noted that the visiting the Bodleian Library, where many rare books, including Mirzo Uzbek's “Zij-i Gurgani”, Alisher Navoi’s “Khamsa”, Husayn Boyqaro’s “Devon i Husayniy” and miniatures from the Baburid era are kept, left a warm impression.
