Relations between Italy and the United States have been strained by pasta

Italy is extremely concerned about the additional anti-dumping tariff imposed by the US authorities on pasta imports. This was stated by the country's Foreign Ministry.

The Foreign Ministry noted that due to the new duties, prices in the United States for Italian pasta will almost double. In this regard, Rome is working closely with the European Commission to put pressure on Washington.

In turn, the US Department of Commerce explained the introduction of an additional anti-dumping tariff by the fact that the investigation revealed the sale of products by two large Italian manufacturers on the American market at artificially low prices. The new tariff will increase the prices of Italian pasta by 91.74%. gazeta.ru.
