Issues related to the development of trade, economic, and investment cooperation were reviewed in the context of implementing the agreements reached during the high-level visit to Brussels in October of this year.

The EU representatives conveyed to the President of Uzbekistan the warm greetings of President of the European Council António Costa and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

The Leader of Uzbekistan congratulated the EU Commissioners on the successful holding in Tashkent of the third Central Asia – EU Economic Forum and the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and Connectivity Invetors Forum, as a result of which several new joint regional projects were launched.

The dynamic development of Uzbekistan-European relations and the formation of a new, comprehensive agenda for bilateral and multilateral cooperation were noted with satisfaction.

This year, an Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (EPCA) with the European Union was signed, summits were held in Samarkand and Brussels, and negotiations with the EU on Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO were completed.

Since the beginning of this year, trade turnover has grown by almost 7 percent. It was emphasized that the practical implementation of the EPCA will help multiply trade volumes and increase investment inflows.

The importance of improving institutional cooperation mechanisms was highlighted to expand and diversify the range of traded goods and to develop new joint investment projects in industrial cooperation, transport, digitalization, critical minerals, energy, healthcare, and other priority sectors.

Views were also exchanged on current issues of the international and regional agenda.
