The President of Uzbekistan takes part in the business forum of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue

    As part of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue program of events, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a multilateral business forum.

    The event was also attended by Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

    Current issues related to developing trade and economic cooperation between Central Asia and Japan, attracting Japanese investment and advanced technologies to the region, expanding industrial collaboration, and strengthening direct business-to-business contacts were discussed.

    Joint economic projects were presented. Among them were such Uzbek-Japanese investment initiatives as the construction of two solar power plants in Uzbekistan by Sumitomo, Chubu Electric Power, and Shikoku Electric Power with the support of JBIC and NEXI, the modernization of IT infrastructure with the participation of Toyota Tsusho, the establishment of a multidisciplinary medical center by Sojitz, as well as the development of new deposits of critical minerals with JOGMEC.

    In the presence of the leaders, a ceremonial exchange of documents on the relevant projects took place.
