The Minister conveyed warm greetings and a personal message from the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, to the President of Uzbekistan.
Discussions were held on further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, primarily by exploring the potential of a partnership in the trade-economic and investment-financial spheres.
It is pleasing to note an increase in interdepartmental and business contacts. Bilateral trade volumes and the number of joint enterprises are growing, and business events featuring leading companies from both countries are regularly held.
Special attention is paid to expanding the portfolio of the existing joint Investment Company through new cooperation projects.
In April this year, the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a joint business forum will be held.
In addition, the importance of developing interparliamentary ties, cultural and humanitarian exchange, and establishing direct air links was emphasized.
Views were also exchanged on the regional agenda, including preparations for the second summit of the Central Asia – Gulf Countries Dialogue, which will take place in May this year in the city of Samarkand.
