The President of Uzbekistan emphasizes the importance of further enhancing multifaceted collaboration with Turkmenistan

    On April 15, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, who is in Uzbekistan as part of the program of the Second Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the “Central Asia – Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf” Strategic Dialogue.

    The growth in mutual trade turnover was noted with particular satisfaction. The Shavat-Dashoguz trade zone is being created. Mutually beneficial cooperation continues in industrial cooperation, energy, transport and logistics, and agriculture.

    Interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchange are enhancing. This year, several events will be held in Uzbekistan to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the poet Magtymguly Fragi’s birth.

    Particular attention was paid to forming a new agenda for multifaceted partnership in preparation for the upcoming summit meetings.

    Views were exchanged on current issues of the regional and international agenda.
