Uzbekistan and Malaysia leaders discussed the progress of the implementation of agreements at the highest level

    On July 15, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim.

    Current issues of developing multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Malaysia were discussed in the context of the implementation of the agreements of the visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Uzbekistan in May this year.

    The noticeable intensification of interparliamentary, intergovernmental and business contacts was noted with satisfaction. On May 29, the first meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was fruitfully held in the city of Putrajaya. The Uzbekistan – Malaysia Business Council was established.

    Special attention was paid to promoting cooperation projects between leading companies in industry, green energy, petrochemicals, electrical engineering, and other industries.

    Measures to implement joint programs of humanitarian exchange and pilgrimage tourism were discussed.

    Current issues on the international and regional agenda and the schedule of the upcoming events at the highest level were discussed.
