The Leader of Uzbekistan emphasized that the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan is a vivid confirmation of the unbreakable centuries-old bonds of friendship and good-neighborliness between the two peoples.

Current issues of expanding friendship, good-neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were reviewed.

High appreciation was expressed for the work carried out in trade, transport, energy, water management, and other vital areas.

“Without a doubt, great credit for this belongs to the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, the esteemed Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov”, the President stated.

Mutual trade has doubled in recent years, exceeding $1 billion. It was noted that all necessary opportunities exist to bring this figure to 2 billion by expanding the range of goods and effectively utilizing the free-trade regime.

The launch of the “Shavat – Dashoguz” border trade zone will also help increase trade turnover. An agreement was reached to scale up this experience to other areas, primarily the “Alat – Farab” region.

To expand industrial cooperation, the importance of actively involving the business community in launching new projects to produce construction materials, pharmaceuticals, food products, and other high-demand goods was highlighted.

Effective and mutually beneficial cooperation has been established in the energy sector. An agreement was reached to move toward larger-scale projects, including the joint development of promising fields.

The transport sector serves as a vital link between the two countries’ economies. Cargo transportation volumes are increasing, and customs and logistics procedures are being simplified. The parties agreed to jointly develop the Turkmenbashi port and resume direct flights between the capitals.

To ensure the timely implementation of the agreements reached, the subsequent meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council will be held by the end of the year.

The leaders noted that the humanitarian sphere forms a solid foundation for the multifaceted ties between the two nations. The successful organization of the Days of Turkmen Culture and the screening of Turkmen films in Urgench and Tashkent were highlighted.

To maintain the positive momentum of cooperation, the parties agreed to hold reciprocal concerts and theater tours regularly, to organize a Youth Forum in Khiva, and to continue producing joint films.

Exchanges in healthcare and medical science will be intensified.

Following the talks, the heads of state instructed that a comprehensive roadmap be adopted to implement all agreements reached.
