Negotiations regarding Hungary's participation in the construction of an integrated nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan were held at the "Uzatom" Agency with the participation of the Agency Director and Peter Karpati CEO of MVM EGI Zrt.
During the meeting, the possibilities of attracting export financing through the Hungarian Eximbank, the current status of project financing and the prospects for signing a four-sided basic agreement on the introduction of "dry cooling" systems were discussed.
The negotiations confirmed the high level of cooperation between the two countries in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy. The readiness to exchange advanced technologies and jointly utilize international financial mechanisms for implementing large infrastructure projects was also noted.
Special attention was paid to coordinating the activities of project participants and introducing innovative and high-tech solutions into Uzbekistan's atomic industry.
The parties agreed to hold the next stage of negotiations in Hungary in January 2026, within the framework of an official visit by the "Uzatom" delegation, with the participation of the Hungarian Eximbank, OTP Bank, and other financial institutions.
