Pashinyan: Armenian authorities do not need a war with Azerbaijan

Pashinyan ruled out the possibility of any actions on the part of Armenia that could harm regional stability.

As the Report reports with reference to the Armenian media, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this during the government hour in parliament.

“We absolutely do not need any kind of war with Azerbaijan. Any qualified observer understands that in order to strengthen our domestic political positions, on the contrary, we need stability in the region,” he said, answering the relevant question.

The head of the Armenian government noted that Armenia recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan on the basis of the Alma Ata Declaration and plans to continue the process of border delimitation.

“We have to start delimiting the next section of the border, and this process continues. Our goal is to negotiate a peace treaty, 90% of which has already been completed,” Pashinyan said.

He also stated that he sees no reason for a new escalation in the region.
