"Illegal border crossing between the United States and Mexico is fraught with risks and difficulties. We strongly condemn such actions and warn Uzbeks to avoid falling into the hands of criminal smugglers who view people as objects of trade. The U.S. borders are closed to illegal migration, and we urge Uzbek citizens to use safe and legal routes to travel to the United States," the diplomatic mission said in a statement.

The Embassy notes that the United States is working closely with the Uzbek government on the expulsion of its citizens who do not have legal grounds to stay in the United States. The partnership between the United States and Uzbekistan on the return of citizens’ subject to expulsion from the United States underscores the obligations to the international community.

"The Biden-Harris administration has taken significant steps to expand safe and orderly ways for migrants to enter the United States legally. Programs such as the green card provide legitimate opportunities to live and work in the United States in accordance with immigration laws," the embassy said in a statement.

Persons crossing the U.S. border illegally will be denied legal re-entry for at least five years. Family members and others who assist in illegal migration may also be permanently disqualified from obtaining an American visa.

In the course of cooperation with foreign partners to form safe, organized and humane migration processes, the United States promptly expels all illegal entrants and non-citizens in accordance with the powers of Section 8, in the absence of legal grounds for their stay in the United States.
