During the Summit, which was attended by women speakers of parliaments, representatives of international organizations and experts, a number of issues of women's leadership, women's empowerment, and the promotion of inclusive politics were discussed. Special attention is paid to the role of women parliamentarians in ensuring sustainable peace and stability.
During the first session of the Summit, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva made a report in which she noted that the main provisions of the Resolution "Women, Peace and Security" adopted by the UN Security Council are reflected in the developed and implemented Strategy "Uzbekistan 2030" and the National Strategy aimed at ensuring Gender Equality.
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan was one of the first countries to initiate a global campaign in support of gender equality under the slogan "Let's achieve gender equality: action by action!", presented during the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
During the Summit, proposals aimed at strengthening the role of women in public and political life, as well as the development of a sustainable and regular interparliamentary dialogue on gender equality and peace were also announced.
