Representatives of the U.S. tourism sector got acquainted with the tourism and business opportunities of Uzbekistan

    A round table on "Tourism and business opportunities of Uzbekistan" was organized at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington.

    The event was organized with the aim of actively promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, strengthening the national brand and popularizing the unique historical and cultural heritage of our country in the United States

    The round table was attended by representatives of American tour operators, representatives of the Washington Mayor's Office, PR specialists, experts in the film industry, retail, media, as well as hotel business owners and designers.

    The participants were familiarized in detail with the achievements of Uzbekistan in the field of tourism, current projects and the development strategy of the industry. In particular, representatives of the Uzbek delegation spoke about the key tourist destinations of the country, such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz and Termez. The participants also received information about Uzbek traditions, cuisine, historical monuments and unique cultural routes.

    During the discussions, support programs for international investors in the tourism industry, existing preferences and opportunities for the development of the hotel and entertainment business were also presented.

    Within the framework of the event, in order to establish new relations of cooperation in the field of tourism, the Chairman of the Committee on Tourism U. Shadiev met with Senior Vice President of the American Society of Travel Advisors (American Society of Travel Advisors - ASTA) Mark Meader.

    ASTA unites about 8 thousand members, including travel agencies from the USA, Canada and other countries, as well as airlines, freight and bus companies, hotel owners, car rental companies and government travel organizations from more than 100 countries.

    Mark Meader got acquainted with the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, its natural beauties, as well as with the tourist infrastructure and new programs and opportunities planned to attract tourists.

    At the meeting, the parties agreed on further development of cooperation to promote the tourism potential of Uzbekistan using the capabilities of ASTA and confirmed their readiness to work together to expand the tourism opportunities of Uzbekistan and increase the flow of tourists to our country.

    In addition, there was a presentation of the works of Uzbek designer and master of traditional embroidery Hamida Inoyatova. She spoke about the process of creating traditional patterns and the deep traditions of Uzbek embroidery.

    The guests of the event were able to enjoy the performances of Uzbek dancers and musicians, which added a special flavor to the event and emphasized the uniqueness of Uzbek culture.
