Representatives of Uzbekistan take part in the 76th session of the World Health Assembly

    Delegates from 194 countries - a total of about three thousand guests gathered in Geneva, where the 76th session of the World Health Assembly opened. The main contingent of participants consists of ministers of health, representatives of leading international organizations, foundations and corporations. Among them is the delegation of our country headed by the Minister of Health Amrillo Inoyatov.

    The geography of the participating countries is extensive. But everyone has the same goal - protecting the health of humanity! The agenda of the session includes global issues related to ensuring the health of the world's population.

    In particular, it is planned to discuss the issues of reforming primary health care, prevention of infectious and non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, emergency response, global strategies to eliminate tuberculosis, as well as scientific research and innovative achievements in the field.

    According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, at the beginning of the opening ceremony, the president, five vice-presidents of the session and the chairmen of the committees were elected, after which the agenda of the meeting was approved.

    Then the responsible persons of a number of international organizations and ministers of health sent their greetings to the participants.

    Further, a video report by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, was presented online. The heads of a number of governments also sent their opinions and congratulations in a live broadcast.

    After that, WHO Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus spoke and spoke about the efforts to eliminate the coronavirus pandemic, monkey pox (mpox), cholera epidemic and other diseases that in recent years have put the health and life of humanity under serious threat.

    The main part of the discussions at the event, held at the UN headquarters in Geneva, will last until May 30.

    Also on the sidelines of the session, it is planned to hold a "round table" dedicated to the work carried out in the field of healthcare and plans for the future.
