The Law "On the protection of the population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies" was discussed in advance

    Today, on July 6, on the eve of the plenary session, a meeting of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Defense and Security Issues was held. It was attended by senators, experts, employees of relevant ministries and departments, deputies and heads of local Kengash secretariats, as well as representatives of the media.

    The issues that will be considered during the next plenary session of the Senate were discussed. In particular, the Law "On the protection of the population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies" was discussed in advance.

    It was noted that this Law serves as a programmatic action to protect the population and regions from natural and man-made emergencies in our country.

    The new provisions of the Law provide for the implementation of emergency response measures, their publication, notification of the population about the occurrence of danger, specific tasks of ministries, departments and other organizations and the management of emergency response measures and a number of other aspects.

    The Ministry of Emergency Situations is referred to as a public administration body with special powers to protect against emergencies. Its powers include enforcement of legislation in the field of protection of the population and territories from emergency situations, development of plans for forecasting, prevention and liquidation of emergency situations.

    The procedure for the participation of citizens' self-government bodies, non-governmental non-profit organizations and mass media in the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations is established.
