Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with construction progress of the Republican Multidisciplinary Medical Center in Tashkent.

This large institution will have departments of surgery, intensive care, eye microsurgery, general therapy, nephrology, pulmonology, hepatology, allergology, cardiology, vascular surgery, cardiac resuscitation, dentistry, gastroenterology, endocrinology and other specialized areas. Services will be provided in a comprehensive manner based on international standards.

“We do not have experience in managing such clinics covering all areas. Therefore, it is necessary to transfer management to experienced foreign managers, to involve them already at the current stage, to receive their proposals for construction and equipment”, the Head of the state said.

The center has a capacity of 600 beds. More than 200 types of outpatient and inpatient medical services will be provided. It is expected that the center’s specialists will perform over 3,000 high-tech operations, including coronary artery bypass grafting, aesthetic plastic surgery, arthroplasty, organ and tissue transplantation.

The President noted the importance of organizing interaction between this center and regional clinics.

“The main inconvenience that patients experience is the road. It is necessary to organize remote diagnosis and treatment of patients in remote districts so that people will not have to travel from afar”, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Special attention in organizing the center’s activities is paid to international cooperation. It is planned to establish partnership with leading clinics of countries such as Germany, Turkey, South Korea, Russia, and hire foreign specialists.

The center will employ 250 doctors and 500 nurses. In order to train qualified personnel, great attention is paid to the integration of education, practice and science.

The modern clinic, being built on the territory of the institution, known as the “old TashMI”, is scheduled to be commissioned in December next year.
