A "local non-conformity" was detected in the rocket's upper stage during system checks.

"The scope of work has already been determined; after the necessary measures are taken, we will continue preparing the launch vehicle as usual," said Deputy Director General of "Roscosmos" Ivan Danilov (quoted by the state corporation's press service).

The corporation emphasizes that the launch delay will not affect the scientific program. The new launch date is unknown.

The Proton-M, which is carrying the Electro-L No.5 satellite, was scheduled for launch from the Baikongur Cosmodrome on December 15 at 15:20 Moscow time. On December 12, the rocket was placed vertically on the launch pad, reported by kommersant.ru.
