The national project "Green Space" is being implemented within the framework of the Presidential Decree "On measures to accelerate landscaping and further effective organization of tree protection in the Republic".

It was noted that in the fall of 2021, more than 85 million trees were planted in the country, and this spring it is planned to plant 105 million trees.

The national project "Green Space" is implemented by creating "green parks" and "green squares" in the districts, planting seedlings and shrubs in alleys, along roads and streets, along canals and other irrigation structures, in neighborhoods, between apartment buildings, on the territory of organizations, as well as on personal household plots of the population.

Taking into account the specifics of each region and the experience gained over the past period, together with the Khorezm regional administration, the project "Concepts of the Khorezm experience in creating a system for planting trees, caring for them and protecting them from pests within the framework of the national Green Space project" was developed.

It was noted that the Concept reflects the goals and objectives of the project in the region, the specifics of the region and existing problems, a set of measures for cultivation, planting, gardening, care, protection, as well as the expansion of seedlings and issues of effective control over the work carried out.

A target program for planting and caring for tree seedlings and an electronic platform "Green Space" will also be developed.

In the spring of 2022, 9 million 56 thousand seedlings and cuttings of ornamental and fruit trees will be planted in the region. In order to protect the cities of Urgench and Khiva from the effects of sand and salt of the desert, a "green shield" will be installed and in 2022-2024, 13 "green parks" on 124 hectares and 25 "green public parks" on 144 hectares of area will be created in the region.

In addition, trees and protective green spaces will be planted along public roads on agricultural land.

In the coming years, depending on the natural and climatic conditions of the region, it is planned to create three nurseries for growing seedlings of trees and shrubs (for cultural, desert and coastal areas), an Agro logistic center under the regional administration.

The event is aimed at popularizing the essence and significance of the national project "Green Space", ensuring public participation in the action and conducting promotional activities among the population.

It was noted that the implementation of the national project "Green Space" as a "Khorezm experience" will be under the constant control of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, as well as the general public, the information service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
