Prospects of cooperation were discussed with experts of the World Bank

    During the dialogue, it was noted that strategic cooperation has been established between Uzbekistan and the World Bank, several projects have been implemented in some areas.

    The meeting also exchanged views on issues of ensuring gender equality, ending harassment and violence against women, increasing the social and political activity of women, their role in the management of public affairs, youth policy and large-scale reforms currently being implemented in our country, as well as all ongoing changes and updates.

    In turn, Senator Malika Kadirkhanova focused on changes and innovations in legislation in connection with the further improvement of the system of reliable protection of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of women and children.

    - The law is important because, along with the establishment of strict penalties for various kinds of violence committed against women and minors today, it serves to prevent such negative cases, - M. Kadirkhanova noted.

    Robert Wrobel highly appreciated the positive changes implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years, especially the work to protect the rights of women and children, including from various forms of harassment and violence.

    During the dialogue, the parties discussed reforms within the framework of the World Bank Project to support the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2023-2024.

    At the end of the meeting, the responsible employees of the World Bank expressed their readiness to further improve cooperation, and an agreement was reached on further actions.
