Samarkand and Grodno regions intend to develop cooperation

    Samarkand and Grodno regions intend to develop cooperation. Such information was voiced at a meeting of the heads of regions Erkinjon Turdimov and Vladimir Karanik, BELTA learned from the Grodno Regional Executive Committee.

    Their meeting was held in Samarkand as part of the II Forum of the Regions of Uzbekistan and Belarus. During the conversation, the heads of the regions discussed prospects for increasing trade turnover. The Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee noted that the potential for cooperation between the regions is growing.

    As noted in the regional executive committee, Uzbekistan today ranks third in the ranking of trade turnover of the Grodno region among the CIS countries and fourth among all countries of the world.

    The Grodno region supplies Uzbekistan with food products (cattle meat, cheeses, whey, baby food), woodworking and petrochemical products. In turn, Uzbekistan supplies nuts and fruits, as well as yarn, fabrics, and textiles.
