    The national team of Uzbekistan successfully performed in the team direction at the World Cup in sabre fencing among young people. The competitions were held in the capital of Bahrain - Manama, the National Olympic Committee (NOC) reports.

    In particular, the quartet of Gulistan Perdebayeva, Fernanda Herrera, Nargiza Jaksibayeva and Samira Shokirova defeated all rivals and won the gold medal. In the final, the domestic athletes defeated the Bulgarian team with a score of 45:30, the message clarifies.

    The NAC recalled that Gulistan Perdibayeva, the winner of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, was awarded another gold award in these competitions, but already in the individual direction. In addition, Fernando Herrera, who also became the winner of the Asian Games, won bronze, the committee noted.

    It is worth adding that the Uzbekistan women's sabre fencing team represented by Zaynab Dayibekova, Gulistan Perdibayeva, Paola Pliego and Fernanda Herrera became champions of the Asian Games in Hangzhou. This is Uzbekistan's first gold medal in fencing at the Asian Games, the publication explains.
