The Law "On External Labor Migration" was discussed at the eighth plenary session of the Senate.

This Law regulates relations related to the departure of citizens and stateless persons permanently residing in our country for temporary employment outside the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the involvement of foreign citizens and stateless persons permanently residing in other countries to work in our country.

During the discussion, it was noted that there are a number of issues that require revision of the Law.

Thus, it was emphasized that the powers of some state bodies in this area should be reviewed taking into account the latest administrative reforms.

At the same time, the importance of granting organizations that send people to work abroad the right to study compliance with working conditions together with the representative offices of the Agency for Migration Abroad was emphasized.

In addition, it was noted that it would be advisable to establish in Law a mechanism for the Agency to implement the process of returning migrant workers to Uzbekistan and to cover expenses at the expense of the sending organization in case of non-fulfillment of the obligations of the sending organization abroad.

Attention was also drawn to the need to review the grounds for issuing, suspending, terminating or canceling a confirmation of the right to work in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan. At the same time, it was noted that it is necessary to establish clear legal mechanisms for the amount of fees charged for confirmation.

Considering the above, it was deemed appropriate to review the Law and a corresponding resolution of the Senate was adopted on this issue.
