The
objective is to provide patients suffering from chronic diseases with necessary
medicines free of charge in outpatient settings and to ease the financial
burden of medical expenses on the population.
During
January–June of this year, a total of 1,716,578 patients across the country
were served under the program, and 3,713,563 electronic prescriptions were
issued.
A total of
154.5 billion sums was disbursed from the Fund for free medications received by
patients from contracted pharmacies. This played a crucial role in providing
social support to thousands of citizens requiring continuous treatment.
By region,
the largest amounts of funds were allocated to Tashkent city (31.0 billion
sums), Bukhara region (23.8 billion sums), and Khorezm region (22.6 billion
sums). The indicator of program utilization and demand for free medicines
increased from 16.7 billion sums in January to 28.5 billion sums by June.
