On October 27, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan T. Narbayeva met with Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia A.R. Simonyan at the site of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS).

During the meeting, it was noted that there is a great untapped potential in the development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Armenia, primarily in the trade and economic sphere, including in increasing the volume and expanding the range of bilateral trade, establishing mutually beneficial cooperative ties in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and mechanical engineering.

    T. Narbayeva emphasized the need to intensify inter-parliamentary cooperation both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of international parliamentary structures. Thus, the parliaments of the two countries have already established bilateral cooperation groups and it is advisable for these groups to become more actively involved in the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Armenia.

The sides discussed the prospects for the progressive development of bilateral cooperation in the development of cultural and humanitarian ties.
