The Law expands the main directions of state policy in the field of postal communications, provides for the development of postal communications by the state in accordance with international norms and standards, the creation of favorable conditions for attracting investment in the industry, the development of public-private partnerships, stimulating the introduction of advanced innovative, information and communication technologies.

This Law defines the State Inspectorate for Control in the Field of Informatization and Telecommunications of the Republic of Uzbekistan as the state body exercising state control over compliance with the legislation on postal communications.

The law determines that information about the address data of users, about postal and courier items, their contents, as well as other messages included in the scope of activities of postal operators and providers is a secret of postal communication and this is guaranteed by the state.

The law is also supplemented by a new norm on measures to ensure the security of postal communications. In particular, the security of postal communications is a set of measures defined by legislation aimed at protecting the secrecy of postal communications, ensuring the safety of postal and courier items, postal communication facilities.

The law was approved by senators, the information service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
