On May 16 of this year, within the framework of an official visit to Baku, the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddinjon Ismoilov met with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
It was noted that our countries are connected not only by cooperation, but also by common history, language and culture, friendly fraternal relations.
At the meeting, the dynamics of the development of bilateral multifaceted relations, including inter-parliamentary ones, were highly appreciated, it was stressed that there are great opportunities to increase the level of trade turnover between the two countries.
The sides noted the prospects for bilateral cooperation in transport, investment and other spheres, as well as the expansion of cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG).
Speaker of the lower house of Parliament N. Ismoilov, during the meeting, handed President of Azerbaijan I. Aliyev a congratulatory letter from President of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev on the occasion of May 28 - Azerbaijan's Independence Day.
Issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting, which was held in a constructive spirit, the information service of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis reports.
