The United States has detained a tanker in the Indian Ocean, which, according to the Pentagon, could be used to transport sanctioned oil. This was announced by the US Department of War on the X platform.
According to the Pentagon, the military tracked the movement of the Veronica III vessel from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean, after which they stopped it. The boarding took place without incident.
"International waters are not a safe haven. On land, in the air or at sea, we will find you and bring you to justice," the Pentagon said, warning other vessels of the consequences of violating the sanctions regime.
