The United States conducted a test launch of new ballistic missiles

The US Army and Lockheed Martin Corporation have carried out a test launch of new Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) short-range ballistic missiles, which are to replace ATACMS.

According to the Report, this is reported by Defense news.

According to the information, the tests took place at a landfill in New Mexico. For the first time, the military launched two missiles at once – one after the other, with the aim of guaranteed hitting the target. The Lockheed Martin missile designer assured that the PrSM demonstrated accuracy and combat readiness during strike testing.

"These missiles will be extremely important for the Army, which needs deep-impact weapons to counter the military developments of Russia and China. The US command in Europe and the Indo-Pacific region wants to get weapons that can hit fixed targets at a distance of more than 400 km," the publication says.

It is noted that at the moment the flight range of the PrSM is 499 km, it is planned to increase it more than twice. The US military has planned several more tests of it. By the end of 2025, the United States is expected to determine how to mass produce these missiles.
