According to the agency, a group of Uzbekistanis working in Russia appealed to the center for working with migrant workers at the representative office of the Agency for External Labor Migration in this country with a request to provide practical assistance in obtaining wages.
"As part of this appeal, as a result of negotiations between the responsible employees of the center with the employer and law enforcement agencies, 131 compatriots who worked at SMU-161 were paid in full in the total amount of 11.517 million rubles (120 thousand dollars)," the agency said in a statement.
According to the migration agency, a total of 28,207 compatriots have been employed in foreign countries in a targeted and organized manner since the beginning of 2023. Of these, 20,450 work in Russia, 3,184 in South Korea, and 1,809 in the UK. Labor migrants from Uzbekistan also operate in Kazakhstan, Germany, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, Latvia.
In January-August, 9,298 migrants received legal assistance, 161,610 received consultations, 8,006 received social assistance and 1,993 received material assistance.
At the same time, 676.3 million dollars in salaries and monetary compensation were collected from foreign employers in favor of Uzbeks.
