The Sudanese military mistakenly shot down a UAE cargo plane

Sudan's rapid Reaction Forces mistakenly shot down a UAE cargo plane in the west of the country.

According to the Report, this is reported by the Sudan War Monitor.

"Today, at about 04:00, a cargo plane was shot down in the Malha area in Northern Darfur," the article notes.

The commander of the SBR in Northern Darfur, Ali Rizkalla, said that they used guided missiles to destroy the "Egyptian AN", which could have been intended for bombing Sudanese troops.

However, evidence from the crash site indicates that this aircraft was actually part of an air bridge organized by the UAE in support of the RBU itself.

In fact, the wreckage belongs to the IL-76, and one of the crew members was carrying a badge identifying him as the chief engineer of Airline Transport Incorporation FZC, a company based in the UAE and with ties to Kyrgyzstan, the report said.

Presumably, there were five people on the aircraft, which almost completely burned down, and no survivors were reported.
