Recently, an agreement was signed between the Minister of Health and the head of South Korea's "Kyeryong" consortium, which was selected as the general contractor, and construction officially started.
The total cost of the project amounts to 149.8 million US dollars.
Of this amount, $124 million is an EDCF credit from the Korea Eximbank, and $25.8 million is Uzbekistan's share.
As a result of the construction, a Level IV medical center with a capacity of 300 places that meets global standards will be built. This will create new jobs for more than 700 people.
Within the framework of the project, 130 Uzbek medical staff will receive advanced training in the Republic of Korea, and 32 highly qualified Korean specialists will come to Uzbekistan to work.
The hospital is planned to perform 8,500 high-tech operations annually, including cardiovascular system, transplantology, neurosurgery, rehabilitation, spinal cord, and joint surgery.
It should be noted that in 2020, the National Children's Medical Center, which is unique in Central Asia, was also commissioned with the participation of the EDCF fund of the Republic of Korea.
