Issues of expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the field of higher education, scientific research and innovation were discussed at the meeting.
The parties stressed the importance of developing cooperation in such areas as training personnel in priority areas for the two countries, expanding the exchange of teaching staff, creating joint educational programs and implementing research projects.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to expand partnership in the field of higher education and science, launch joint educational programs, enhance academic exchange and cooperation in the field of startups, allocate grants for students, and hold a Rectors' Forum in 2026.
At the end of the event, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Agency for Innovative Development under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State Agency for Science and Higher Education under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
