Uzbekistan's successful cooperation with the IAEA

    The 68th session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), attended by representatives of more than 170 Member States, has begun its work in the Austrian capital.

    The event discusses key issues of the Agency's activities, including the annual report for 2023, the budget for 2025, prospects for the development of nuclear science and technology, as well as problems of global nuclear safety, reports the news agency "Dunyo".

    The delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by Chairman of the Committee on Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan Abduvakkos Rafikov, presented a report on achievements in the field of cooperation with the IAEA.

    In his speech, the speaker emphasized Uzbekistan's active participation in the agency's projects aimed at developing nuclear medicine and educational programs in the republic, and highlighted the importance of joint efforts in the field of nuclear safety.

    During the conference, in order to discuss further strengthening cooperation in the field of nuclear energy and safety, the delegation held meetings with key heads of the IAEA, including Deputy Director General Liu Hua.
