Uzbekistan and Belarus have agreed to accelerate the mutual expansion of the network of trading houses and logistics centers, promote cooperation projects in mechanical engineering, agriculture and other industries. It is also planned to introduce electronic certification of origin of goods.

In addition, it is reported that an agreement has been reached to prepare for the launch of Agroexpress between the countries - a project for accelerated food delivery.

This topic has been raised between Uzbekistan and Belarus not for the first time recently. On August 24, the head of the MIVT, Jamshid Khodjaev, discussed with Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayts the supply of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan on Agroexpress, EastFruit reports.

The Agroexpress project was launched by Russian Railways Logistics in 2019. It serves for fast delivery of agricultural products from Russia to foreign markets. Initially, the destination was China, but now the geography of supplies is expanding.

Uzbekistan joined the project in 2021. The first Agroexpress with a pilot batch of food arrived from Tambov (Russia) to Tashkent on November 24. Importers noted better safety of goods compared to motor transport at lower transportation prices.

In February, the EAEU countries approved the project of the Eurasian Agroexpress. The only country objecting to the project was Kazakhstan - the reasons given were the difference in the cost of production and the risk of losing positions in markets, including Uzbekistan.
