The parties discussed the current state and prospects of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. Igor Babushkin noted that by the end of 2024, exports from the Astrakhan region to Uzbekistan increased by 6%. Fish products and industrial goods form the basis of supplies, while textiles and fruit and vegetable products arrive in the region from Uzbekistan.

The head of the region stressed the importance of developing logistics routes. Currently, goods from Uzbekistan are delivered mainly by road, some through terminals of the regional logistics hub.

Igor Babushkin suggested using the hub's transit capacity in full, stressing that the terminal is capable of handling over one million tons of cargo annually.

Trade and agriculture are among the priority areas of cooperation. In 2024, an action plan for bilateral cooperation was signed between the Astrakhan Region and the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan.

The parties paid special attention to education issues. A branch of Astrakhan State Technical University is successfully operating in the Tashkent region, which is the only educational institution in Uzbekistan that trains specialists in the fishing industry. This year, almost 200 bachelors have received state-issued diplomas.
