During the meeting, issues of strengthening partnership within the framework of the implementation of the National Strategy for the Development of Agriculture in Uzbekistan were discussed. ICARDA representatives proposed to establish direct cooperation with the Agricultural Coordination Center of our country, with a special focus on the exchange of scientific knowledge and advanced technologies.
ICARDA is recognized as one of the world's leading plant genetic banks with rich scientific experience and potential in the field of genetics and breeding. The parties expressed their willingness to expand cooperation in these areas, as well as in the field of animal husbandry, taking into account the specialization of the head of ICARDA in Ethiopia.
In addition, the Uzbek side proposed to develop joint educational programs aimed at improving the skills of domestic specialists and scientific exchange.
The Minister of Agriculture invited ICARDA to cooperate within the framework of the HECI (Humanity, Ethics, Creativity, Imagination) initiative aimed at sustainable development of the agricultural sector, taking into account ethical and innovative approaches.
