At the meeting, the members of the delegation were provided with detailed information on the priorities identified in the Strategy "Uzbekistan - 2030", large-scale reforms being implemented in the country, efforts to implement the norms of the Constitution in a new version, as well as the main activities of the Legislative Chamber.
In turn, Zhang Qingwei stressed that the balanced, open and constructive foreign policy pursued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in recent years has been highly appreciated by the international community, further expansion and strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation is an important factor in the development of bilateral relations, and building up dialogue is a comprehensively mutually beneficial direction for both countries.
It was also emphasized separately that the current geopolitical and geostrategic situation requires ensuring regional security and further strengthening relations between the countries, therefore, mutual cooperation between the two countries is given priority in this direction.
According to Zhang Qingwei, at an important stage in the development of the two countries, an important place is occupied by work to increase the volume of mutual trade, the rapid development of reforms in the energy, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
It was emphasized at the meeting that Uzbekistan is one of the largest economies in the region, which is clearly reflected in the growth of the gross domestic product of our country.
During the meeting, which was held in a constructive spirit, issues of expanding interparliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and China and enriching it with new content, sharing experience in the field of norm-setting were discussed.
At the same time, the issues of expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation between our countries, as well as partnership in the fields of transport and communication, tourism and others were considered.
During the meeting, the parties agreed on the further development and strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
