The parties exchanged information on the migration situation in the territories of the states, as well as on the current and planned changes in migration legislation.
Special attention was paid to the issue of regulating the legal status of foreign citizens who stay in the Russian Federation in violation of the terms of stay. Representatives of the Russian delegation called on their foreign colleagues to strengthen information and propaganda work in this area among their compatriots.
Foreign citizens who are in the country with violations of migration legislation are given the opportunity to settle their status before September 10, 2025. After this date, foreigners who have lost their legal grounds for staying in Russia will be subject to expulsion from the country and subsequent closure of entry.
In addition, the parties exchanged experiences on the implementation of migration control in relation to foreign citizens, in particular, on the timely and high-quality content of the Interstate Information Bank.
The next joint meeting is scheduled to be held in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2026.
