Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have agreed to jointly implement projects in all sectors of industry

    According to the results of January-December 2021, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover (WTO) reached 42.1 billion US dollars, which, compared to the same period in 2020, increased by 5.8 billion US dollars (an increase of 16.0%). Among the 20 major partner countries in foreign economic activity, there is an active foreign trade balance with four countries, in particular with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. A passive balance of foreign trade turnover is maintained with the remaining 16 countries.

    The Government of Tajikistan by its resolution approved an agreement with the Government of Uzbekistan on cooperation in the field of industry and new technologies. The agreement, which was signed on June 10, 2021 in Dushanbe following the results of extended negotiations between the official delegations of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in the presence and with the participation of Heads of State Emomali Rahmon and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is based on the provisions of the Treaty of Eternal Friendship between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 15, 2000, reports NIAT "Khovar" with reference to the data of the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    The signed agreement refers to the joint implementation of projects in the light, food, chemical, construction, mining, energy and machine-building industries. In addition, the agreement provides for the development and implementation of projects for the supply of machinery and processing technology.

    It is planned to create the necessary conditions for the establishment and development of direct links between business circles. It is also planned to organize fairs and exhibitions of industrial products, forums of business circles.

    The parties will take measures to develop cooperation using innovative technologies in the production of industrial products. We are talking about the development of joint projects and their practical implementation.

    Recall that last summer, during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the governments of the two countries signed an agreement on the establishment of a joint investment company with a legal address in Dushanbe to finance joint projects in Tajikistan.

    The authorized capital of the Tajik-Uzbek Investment Company was planned to be US$ 12 million. The founders of the company are the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan with a 75% stake and SUE "Tajinvest" with a 25% share in the authorized capital.
