Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the energy sector

    On August 14 in Gulistan (Sughd region) The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, met with the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, Daler Juma.

    The meeting was attended by the heads and representatives of fuel and energy companies of the two countries.

    It was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, initiated by the heads of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon, is dynamically developing in all areas, including the energy sector.

    During the negotiations, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the coordination of energy systems in the autumn-winter period of 2025-2026, and also considered technical aspects related to the project to reconnect to the unified energy system of Central Asia.

    Following the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the achieved level of partnership and confirmed their readiness to further strengthen fraternal and strategic relations in the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
