During the meeting, the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Vietnam, including in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and tourism spheres, were discussed.
It was noted that in 2024, the volume of trade between the two countries amounted to 189.3 million US dollars, of which exports amounted to 17.7 million dollars, and imports - 175.6 million dollars.
It was also stressed at the meeting that there is a huge potential in the tourism sector. The issue of increasing the mutual tourist flow between the two countries was discussed.
During the conversation, information was provided about the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Interparliamentary Union, which will be held in Tashkent from April 5 to 9 this year. It was noted that this prestigious event is being held in Uzbekistan for the first time in its history, and about 2,000 parliamentarians from almost 190 member states of the Inter-Parliamentary Union will take part in it.
The Ambassador also said that about 120 members of the Vietnamese delegation, headed by the Chairman of the National Assembly of that country, Chan Thanh Man, will take part in the Assembly.
Following the meeting, the sides exchanged views on preparations for this important event of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, organizational issues and further development of bilateral cooperation.
