The WHO representative noted that the countries of Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, are actively working to achieve common goals in the field of health and sustainable development, the news agency "Dunyo" reports.

In the framework of cooperation with the Central Asian region, a roadmap for 2022-2025 has been developed with the support of the WHO Regional Office for Europe.

The adoption of this document is conditioned by numerous and overlapping large-scale crises affecting the countries of Central Asia, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the crisis related to climate change and other challenges of our time.

This document unites the efforts of the Central Asian countries and partners to fulfill political, investment and technical tasks that correspond to the main priorities of the European Work Program for 2020-2025.

One of the components of this program is "Joint actions to improve health", aimed at addressing the root causes of poor health and preventing the main shortcomings of health systems.

The Central Asian countries formulated 11 areas of activity and 32 reform initiatives, which formed the basis of the roadmap.

These directions and initiatives formed the basis of the document based on the analysis of indicators in the field of health and well-being of each country, national priorities, statements of the Ministers of Health of the Central Asian states.

The ultimate goal of the comprehensive document was to involve all stakeholders in providing ongoing coordinated support by channeling political, investment and technical resources for accelerated implementation of joint actions in accordance with the priorities of the region in the field of health and well-being.

In general, efforts are aimed at reducing the burden of infectious diseases, strengthening sanitary and epidemiological safety, identifying emergency situations, creating a healthy and environmentally friendly habitat, and combating antimicrobial resistance.
