In particular, meetings were held with the leadership of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI), the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), the Agency for International Cooperation (JICA), as well as companies Sojitz Corporation, Washin Trading, Le One Co., Daido Industries, OMETA, ITO Corporation, Okamoto Corporation, Masui and others.
During the talks with METI Minister Masaki Ogushi, issues of strengthening bilateral trade and economic cooperation, the implementation of joint investment projects, as well as cooperation within the framework of the JCM mechanism for the introduction of energy-saving technologies and support for low-carbon initiatives were discussed. The parties also paid attention to expanding the supply of agricultural products (in particular, speeding up the issuance of phytosanitary permits for the export of sweet cherries), cooperation in the field of energy, extraction and supply of strategic metals.
At the meeting with the JBIC management, issues of accelerating the implementation of current projects, opening financing for new initiatives and expanding support for the private sector were discussed.
Prospects for cooperation in the fields of energy, healthcare, agriculture, light industry, infrastructure construction, textile industry and the introduction of smart farming technologies were discussed with representatives of Japanese companies. Following the negotiations with Sojitz Corporation, a roadmap for cooperation in the fields of energy, healthcare and infrastructure was signed.
On August 17, the Uzbek delegation took part in events dedicated to the National Day of Uzbekistan at EXPO-2025 in Osaka.
The results of the visit confirmed the high level of strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan and opened up new opportunities for expanding investment and industrial cooperation.
