Uzbekistan has become a member country of the Agreement on Simplification of Cross-Border Paperless Trade in the Asia-Pacific Region

    On November 5 of this year, the Republic of Uzbekistan became an official participant in the Framework Agreement on Simplification of Procedures for Cross-border Paperless Trade in the Asia-Pacific Region.

    Based on the provisions of article 19 of the Agreement, this document will enter into force for Uzbekistan on February 3, 2025.

    In connection with the accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the "Framework Agreement on Simplification of Procedures for Cross-border Paperless Trade in the Asia-Pacific Region", Resolution No. PP-316 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 7, 2024 "On accession to an international treaty" was adopted.

    For reference: The Framework Agreement on Simplification of Procedures for Cross-Border Paperless Trade in the Asia-Pacific Region is a multilateral international document adopted by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) on May 19, 2016.

    The purpose of the Framework Agreement is to promote the development of paperless cross-border trade by creating conditions for the mutual recognition and exchange of trade documents and data in electronic form, as well as by promoting the interoperability of national and subregional systems.

    This document has been in force since February 20, 2021, and today 14 countries have officially joined the Agreement.

    Uzbekistan's accession to this document will contribute to the integration of our country into the international paperless trade system, accelerate and simplify export-import operations with friendly states of the Asia-Pacific region.

    The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade has been designated as the authorized body responsible for the implementation of this international agreement.
